How does a car qualify for lemon law?
Under most state laws, to qualify as a lemon, the car must have a major problem covered by the warranty and that problem occurred within a certain time frame or # of miles after the consumer purchased the vehicle. Also, the vehicle was not fixed after a reasonable number of attempts to repair it. If the vehicle was fixed, you do not qualify.
What is the lemon law for used cars in California?
The California Used Car Lemon Law allows the manufacturer and or its authorized dealerships with a reasonable number of repair attempts to correct the defects in a used car or vehicle under the manufacturers warranty before they are legally required to buy it back or compensate the consumer.
